ABOUT US

OUR MISSION & VALUES

The Law Firm of Abigail E. Peoples, PLLC’s mission statement is “Walking with you and your family through all of life’s seasons.” We strive to do this with all of our clients. To that end, we have four Core Values that we believe encapsulate the work we do as a firm and as individuals:

EXCELLENCE

Excellence is the unwavering commitment to personal and professional growth and to surpassing ordinary standards, continuously striving for the highest level of service to our clients and achievement in the work we take on as a firm and individually.

EMPATHY

Seeking to listen, to understand others' needs and perspectives, and to build genuine human connection in all we do allows us to impart the kind of compassionate, personalized, and authentic experience we desire for our clients. This approach also allows us to build meaningful and respectful relationships with our coworkers, and to treat our clients and coworkers with the respect they deserve.

ACCOUNTABILITY

We take personal responsibility for our actions, decisions, and their consequences. We choose to positively impact our work environment with our attitude. We commit to take corrective action needed to improve our work and contribution to the team.

RESPECT

The value of respect is embodied by all of our other values. We emphasize it here. Respect for our work. Respect for our clients and relationships in the community. Respect for each other. Respect for ourselves.

MEET OUR TEAM

ABIGAIL E. PEOPLES

Abigail E. Peoples started the firm in 2009 right out of law school. Born and raised in Greensboro, she enjoys working with residents of the Triad area and beyond. She graduated from Western Guilford High School, and went on to college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill—Go Tarheels! Abigail also earned a Masters in Counseling at Regent University in Virginia prior to attending law school at the College of William & Mary, Marshall-Wythe School of Law in Williamsburg, Virginia. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, as well as her dog Tucker (the firm’s "Supervising Pawalegal"), and loves reading, hiking, quilting and watching movies.

Abigail brings to her practice compassion and integrity that are often hard to find in the legal world. She also has an exceptional academic record and career background that reflect her hard work and success. Abigail’s practice focuses on estate planning, estate administration, guardianships and elder law. She will be happy to discuss other topics with you to determine if she can assist you with your particular situation or to guide you to someone who can. She looks forward to talking with you about your legal needs.

KASSANDRA COLLINS

Kassandra Collins joined our firm in 2022 with her degree in Paralegal Studies. She subsequently earned her Paralegal Certification, a huge accomplishment. Kassandra handles much of the Estate Administration work at the firm and enjoys working with our clients to assist them through the difficult time of losing a loved one. Kassandra is a native North Carolinian and lives with her family and her Maine coon and her American bobtail.

ERICA RAGAN

Erica Ragan is one of the newer member of our team, having joined us as our receptionist in September of 2023. Her voice is likely the first one you will hear when you call. Erica is originally from Florida but moved to North Carolina to earn her Masters degree from UNC-Greensboro. We have adopted her as a North Carolinian and hope she decides to make this her permanent home. Erica has proven herself an invaluable member of the team and is eager to help our clients and our firm in any way she can.

LEAH BLANKINSHIP

Leah Blankinship is our newest team member. She joined us in October 2023 as a Paralegal, working with our clients on estate administration. Leah has a great background as she worked for the Clerk's office in the Estate division for many years, and brings that wealth of knowledge to the firm. We are thrilled to have her join us and bring her expertise to assist our clients.

THE OFFICIAL SUPERVISING "PAWALEGAL"

TUCKER PEOPLES

Tucker is a mini Sheepadoodle (his mom is an Old English sheepdog and his dad is a miniature poodle) and weighs about 25 pounds, but when he’s really fluffy it looks like a lot more. He is 3 ½ years old and has been coming to work at the firm since he was 10 weeks old. He loves people and especially loves his mom, Abigail. He takes his job as supervising Pawalegal seriously and spends his time around the office sleeping, greeting clients and enjoying all the attention he gets from anyone who walks in the door.

THE OFFICIAL FIRM MASCOT AND GREETER, RETIRED

JAKE PEOPLES

Jake was a beagle, Brittany-spaniel mix who was rescued by Abigail in 2002, when he was around 2. He was a loyal companion to her for almost 13 years. He went to doggie heaven in June 2018 and we miss him terribly!
